Interim Department Chair for Hotel Management Department

Dr. Gail Sammons teaches both graduate and undergraduate human resources courses. She also teaches Introduction to the Hospitality Industry. Currently she is teaching human resource distance education courses at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

Dr. Sammons is currently the Interim Department Chair for the Hotel Management Department.

Dr. Sammons's research interests include: operational audits, training, organizational citizenship behavior as a predictor of work performance, satisfaction with benefits and job commitment issues. She co-authored Front Office Operations and Auditing Workbook. This workbook is currently under revision and will be published in 2005.

Gail presents training sessions to both small and large groups of managers.   An example of a training session is: Training Tidbits: Who, what, when,  where and how.

Prior to entering hospitality education, Gail owned and operated The Glacier Motor Hotel in Cut Bank, Montana and worked for the Boyd Group as Restaurant Manager and Food and Beverage Controller.

Gail is a member of the following industry organizations: AH&LA and NRA.  She is also a member of CHRIE and SHRM - Society of Human Resource Managers.
